Alvaro Pascotto is an acknowledged international expert in business aviation whose clients include many Fortune 500 companies and well-known entertainment and business personalities. Additionally, his practice includes private equity, wealth management and tax planning.

Mr. Pascotto has maintained a successful international aviation practice for over 30 years, encompassing all aspects and complexities of business aircraft transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions; outfittings and retrofits; financings; leases; charters; sales; tax-free exchanges; joint ownership; timeshare and cost-sharing arrangements; and the ownership, financing and leasing of fractional jet aircraft interests and related operational arrangements. He is routinely involved in complex planning and structuring of ownership and operation of aircraft, including compliance with all applicable FAA and DOT regulatory requirements and maximizing the associated tax benefits.

Mr. Pascotto advises aircraft operators on all relevant considerations implicated in ownership and operational arrangements (including methods of U.S. aircraft registration for non-U.S. persons, establishing flight departments, insurance, and agreements with management companies and charter operators), taking into account federal aviation laws and regulations, federal and state tax laws, income tax issues and securities and governance laws and disclosures relevant to the personal use of aircraft by named executive officers of publicly traded companies.

Mr. Pascotto is a FAA licensed pilot, with interests in two jet aircraft. He is a co-founder and investor of XOJET, Inc. and serves on its Board. He played a significant role in a family-owned FARs Part 135 operation in Van Nuys that operated five jet aircraft. Mr. Pascotto is a member of the Tax Committee of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and frequently lectures at a variety of aviation and tax seminars and publishes related articles.

Mr. Pascotto received his J.D. from the University of Rome. He is a member of the State Bar of California and is also admitted to practice in Italy. Mr. Pascotto was the co-founder of the law firm of Gallavotti, Honorati & Pascotto, with offices in Rome and Milan and was Of Counsel to Irell & Manella LLP from 1994 to 2003 and to Morrison & Foerster LLP from 2003 to 2012. Mr. Pascotto holds the highest AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been named to the Southern California Super Lawyers list recurrently since 2012 and ranked in the Top 100 list of attorneys.
